All is set for the grand kick off of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010 this April 10. A house blessing was held last Wednesday, April 7, wherein Business Unit Head Lauren Dyogi, the PBB staff, and a few ABS-CBN executives were among the first to catch a glimpse of the renovated interior of the PBB house. Direk Lauren explained that the PBB business unit has made it a tradition to hold a house blessing before the start of every season of the hit reality show. “Tuwing nagsisimula naman ang bawat season nagkakaroon tayo ng house blessing. Ito ay bilang pagsalubong sa bagong renovation ng bahay at sa mga bagong housemates na papasok saBahay ni Kuya. This time mga teenagers naman ang mga papanoorin natin.”

The new design adapted a summer theme which, according to Direk Lauren, the teen housemates will surely love. “Mas summer ang feel sa loob ng bahay kaya siguradong ikatutuwa ito ng mga housemates. Kung natuwa kayo sa station ID ng ABS-CBN may ganung tema ang disenyo ng bahay.”

The PBB staff only had about seven weeks to redo the interior of the house for the new Teen Edition. But Direk Lauren explained that as early as last year, they already planned to have a PBB Teen Edition in 2010. “Last year pa plano na naming magkaroon ng Teen Edition para sa summer, kasunod agad ng Double Up season. Napaghandaan naman namin ang mga pagbabagong kailangang gawin sa bahay. Sa five years naming gumagawa ng PBB sanay na kami kahit maikiling time lang for preparation.”

Like in the past PBB seasons, Teen Clash 2010 will also welcome housemates from different regions in the Philippines and even from outside the country. “Lagi naman tayong kumukuha ng mga housemates to represent the different regions of our country and the other Filipino communities abroad. Halo-halo, labo-labo. That’s what makes PBB interesting. Mga taong iba’t ibang ugali, iba’t ibang backgrounds. Pero may iba pang ‘clash’ tayong aabangan ngayong season.” Direk Lauren further revealed that this new edition will have more than a dozen teen housemates.

Last Thursday, April 8, selected members of the entertainment press were invited to go inside the PBB house to experience what its like to live as a housemate. The guests had to surrender their cellphones and timepieces, and after being blindfolded, were directed straight inside the house. Once inside the house, Big Brother gave the guests a special task, and those who excel won special prizes. This April 9, selected ABS-CBN employees will experience the life of a housemate for twelve hours.
